Surface Finish Examples
Sprayed, gilded and hand finished frames from the Harten workshop.
The finish is what most people notice first about a frame, and it is where a bespoke workshop earns its keep. Rather than choosing from a rack of ready made mouldings, each frame here was built first and finished to order, so the colour, sheen and texture could be matched to the artwork and the room it hangs in.
The examples below include sprayed finishes from flat matt through to gloss, traditional gilding in gold and metal leaf, and stained, waxed and patinated timber. Sprayed colour can be matched to almost any reference, from a paint code to a fabric swatch.
Finishes are quoted as part of the frame rather than as a separate line. Our surface finishes service walks through the full range, from spraying and gilding to burn back and verre églomisé, or send us a photo of what you are matching and we will advise.
